Kim Seok Jin
Kim Seok Jin, known professionally as Jin, is a South Korean singer, songwriter, and member of the South Korean boy band BTS. He was born on December 4, 1992, in Anyang, Gyeonggi, South Korea. On June 13, 2013, he made his debut as one of the seven members in BTS under Big Hit Entertainment.
Jin released solo songs - Awake, Epiphany, Moon, Tonight, Abyss, Yours, Super Tuna, and The Astronaut. He released two solo albums - HAPPY and ECHO.
In October 2018, Jin was awarded the fifth-class Hwagwan Order of Cultural Merit by South Korean president Moon Jae-in alongside his bandmates. In July 2021, Jin was appointed Special Presidential Envoy for Future Generations and Culture by President Moon Jae-in, alongside his bandmates.
Jin began his military service in December 2022. He became the company commander trainee, then served as an assistant drill instructor. He was selected as an Elite Class Warrior because of his exemplary service and received an early promotion to Corporal. Jin completed his military service in June 2024 as a Sergeant.
ECHO ALBUM
On May 16,2025, Jin released his second solo album ECHO with seven tracks. Don't Say You Love Me, Nothing Without Your Love, Loset ft. Yena, Rope It,
With the Clouds, To Me,Today, Background. It debuted at No. 3 on Billboard 200 marking Jin’s highest solo album placement ever. Claimed the No.1 spot in Billboard World Albums, claimed No.1 spot on Digital Song Sales chart.
Billboard Hot 100: “Don’t Say You Love Me” debuted at No. 90, earning Jin his third solo entry (after “The Astronaut” and “Running Wild”). “Don’t Say You Love Me” debuted at No.1 on the Global Daily Top Songs chart, making Jin the 4th k-soloist

HAPPY ALBUM
On November 2024, Jin released his first solo album HAPPY with six tracks. Running Wild, I'll Be There, Another Level, Falling,
Heart on the Window, I Will Come To You. Debuted at No.4 on Billboard 200 with around 77,000 album-equivalent units. It reached No.1 on Worldwide and European iTunes Album charts immediately upon release.
Global first-day streams totaled over 17.8 million, with all six tracks charting on Spotify’s Global charts. Running Wild reached #1 on US iTunes, plus dominated Worldwide and European iTunes Song Charts—outperforming in over 70 countries.
Debuted at #8 on Spotify’s Daily Top Songs (Global) with 4.9 million streams on its 1st day. #1 on Digital Song Sales, peaked at #4 on Global 200 and #5 on Global (excluding US).
Marked Jin’s second solo entry on the Billboard Hot100 (after “The Astronaut”), debuting at #53.
THE ASTRONAUT
The Astronaut is a solo single by Jin, released on October 28, 2022. It marks Jin’s first official solo single outside of group projects and was released shortly before his military enlistment.
Jin co-wrote the song with the British band Coldplay. They also contributed instrumentally and vocally. It reached #1 on iTunes in over 100 countries upon release. Debuted at #1 on Billboard Digital Song Sales.
Sold over 1.3 million physical copies globally, 700,000 copies in Korea alone. Certified Platinum by KMCA (Korea Music Content Association), won multiple awards including the Hanteo Music Award for Best Digital Song (Bonsang).

Jin was officially appointed as a brand ambassador for Dongwon Tuna in July 2025, marking a high-profile collaboration that quickly gained public attention, especially due to the cultural impact of his viral song “Super Tuna.”

In 2023, BTS’s Jin was selected as a brand ambassador for Laneige, a leading South Korean skincare and beauty brand under Amorepacific. Known for its innovative hydration-focused products, Laneige chose Jin for his clear, healthy skin, natural charm, and clean-cut image, which perfectly matched the brand’s identity of youthful radiance and modern confidence.

Within 24 hours, the campaign generated over $3.6 million in media impact value, with Jin’s presence alone contributing $1.2 million. In February 2025, BTS Jin was officially appointed as global brand ambassador for Ottogi's Jin Ramen, marking a full-circle moment of his longtime fan dream to represent the noodle brand
Under Jin’s influence, Ottogi revamped global packaging to showcase his image and included collectible handwritten stickers, fueling international buzz. The campaign was a commercial hit—Jin-led promotions contributed to a 40% spike in sales within a month and broke export records, with Jin Ramen’s first-quarter revenue increasing 15% year-over-year.
EXPLORE SEOUL TOURISM
In August 2024, BTS’s Jin was appointed as an Honorary Tourism Ambassador for Seoul, spearheading the city’s “Feel Soul Good” campaign to promote Seoul's vibrant culture and attractions.
As the face of the campaign, he starred in a short promotional film titled “LOVE, MY SOUL”, showcasing scenic spots like Ikseon‑dong and Namsan Seoul Tower, and helped launch the campaign teaser and feature videos.

IGIN
In December 2024, BTS Jin co-founded a traditional Korean liquor brand called IGIN, in partnership with celebrity chef Baek Jong Won, under their agricultural corporation Yesan Doga. IGIN produces both a premium distilled spirit made from local ingredients like rice and Yesan apples, as well as flavored RTD variants—Sweet Tonic (apple & watermelon) and Tangy Tonic (apple & plum).
Coming after his appearances on BTS’s Drunken Truth YouTube series in 2022, Jin’s genuine passion for traditional sool (liquor) drove this first solo business move. The launch included a festive pop-up store, unique packaging, and collaboration with master brewer Park Rok Dam. By March 2025, IGIN expanded to GS25 convenience stores nationwide in Korea after selling out its initial run.
